Aragon adopts late start Thursdays

Last Spring, the SMUHSD Board of Trustees unanimously decided with a vote of 4-0 that on Thursdays, Aragon, Capuchino and Hillsdale will now hold teacher staff meetings in morning rather than the afternoon. As a result, students will now start school at 9:30 a.m and end school at 3:15 p.m as opposed to having the 1:45 p.m early dismissal every Thursday. Cheating: Decoding the deception

It’s 2 a.m., and there’s an essay due tomorrow. I’ve only written the first paragraph. Should I sneak a peek at Alice’s essay for ideas? Everybody used the same quotes, right? Is that even considered cheating? I’m sure it’ll only come up as 2 percent similarity on Turnitin. They are just ideas anyways, and we discussed all of this in class. Nobody will know … and I don’t want to stay up all night.


Aragon demonstrates unity and inclusiveness through walk-in

About 50 Aragon faculty and students gathered on the corner of Woodland Drive and Alameda de las Pulgas before school on Thursday, Jan. 19 to show their support of public education and undocumented students, just a day before President Donald Trump was inaugurated. After demonstrating with posters for about half an hour, the group participated in a ‘walk-in’ to school at 7:50 a.m.

Choir, string quartet spend summer in Ireland

Aragon’s Chamber Choir plus String Quartet traveled to Ireland to perform in and explore the country’s historic sites and landmarks from June 7 to 14. Invited by the mayor of Dublin, students traveled to participate in the 2016 International Limerick Sings Festival.
