Aragon’s Music Department will be touring Italy from June 8 to June 17. Students will take a week-long tour around various Italian cities, performing their music while also embracing Italy’s culture.
With an “Enchanted Garden” theme, Aragon hosted its prom in the San Francisco Design Center Galleria on April 21, complete with decorations of vines on the stairs of the five-story building, flower-shaped lights and fairies serving cupcakes to students.
With prom being one of the most anticipated events in high school, many expectations surround the dance. To help prepare, the senior class council has a prom committee in charge of facilitating the planning and organization of prom. Preparations include booking the location, finding the right DJ and designing prom activities.

The San Mateo Union High School District (SMUHSD) Board of Trustees passed a resolution on Dec. 15 that prevents the release of undocumented students’ private information to immigration-related federal agencies without parental consent or legal requirement by law.
On Dec. 1, Aragon’s Creative Writing class went to the Shop at Flywheel Press, a community art and design center dedicated to sharing creative fine arts in downtown San Mateo, to share their personal work to a public audience.
As part of his passion for butterflies, Aragon alumnus and conservationist Timothy Wong recently returned to Aragon to share his current work, the Butterfly Project, with Biotech 3-4 classes. The classes will participate in Wong’s ongoing project focused on repopulating the California pipevine swallowtail butterfly by planting its native plant species, the pipevine, here at Aragon.

On April 29, Aragon’s GATE program organized a trip to the PACE Gallery in San Francisco to learn more about the advancements in art and science culture.
