Proof in the Pudding, Yale University’s female jazz and swing a cappella group, performed for the Aragon Women’s Choir Jan. 10, as Yale singer Valerie Chen, who graduated from Aragon in 2015, returned to the school.
Captivating the audience with a flugelhorn, jazz musician Dmitri Matheny performed with the Aragon Jazz Band, Jazz Combo and Jazz Ensemble in the Aragon theater on Feb. 16.
Aragon’s music department played several pieces with distinguished concert pianist Gil Sullivan and the San Francisco Wind Ensemble on Nov. 7.
Playing an arrangement of upbeat music, exciting the young crowd, the Aragon Jazz Ensemble performed at Baywood Elementary during the school’s Spirit Week on Oct. 2. Every year, for the past fifteen years, Baywood has invited the ensemble to perform for the students, perhaps sparking an interest in future musicians.
