With a birth in the Central Coast Section’s finals on the line, the Lady Dons took on Presentation High on Nov. 8 at Saint Francis, but ultimately fell to the Lady Panthers in straight sets, 25-18, 25-18, and 25-21.
Despite her team’s losing effort, sophomore middle blocker Kylie Larcher says,“the intensity of both teams on the court was high.”
Aragon faced numerous challenges throughout the contest, including two outside hitters that the girls had significant difficulty containing.
“If [the team] put up a stronger block and adjusted to where they were hitting, I think it might have changed the outcome of the game,” claims Larcher.
Facing an uphill battle from the start, the intensity and aggressiveness only grew as the sets advanced.
Larcher continues by saying that, “As a team, I think our goal was to stay consistent and know when to sideout quickly without getting ourselves into a hole. Overall, we played very well and were committed to our goals, but there were some small errors that we could have corrected that cost us some points. However, I still think everyone did their best and the team we were playing was just very difficult.”
