Princeton Nassoons visit Aragon Choirs
On Tuesday, Nov. 1, Princeton University’s all-male a cappella group, the Princeton Nassoons, came to Aragon’s fourth period choir class to perform a medley of their songs for students in Aragon’s music program. Princeton freshman tenor Danny Pinto made the journey from New Jersey back to the Bay Area to reunite with his elementary school choir teacher, Aragon Choir and Orchestra teacher John Chen.
The performance was highlighted by their signature “Princeton is Free,” a piece to the tune of “The Lion King’s” “Just Can’t Wait to be King.” The song humorously applauds Princeton’s financial aid system, which is responsible for the school graduating 93 percent of students without loans. They also performed Toto’s “Rosanna,” Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop the Feeling!” and their own hit song, “Tigertown Blues.”
After they completed their songs, the Nassoons listened to Aragon’s all-female a cappella group, Treble With Angels, and Aragon’s all-male a cappella group, September, providing them with much-appreciated feedback on their performances.
The Nassoons are set to perform next at Stanford University. Find out more about the group at www.nassoons.com.
