On Jan. 7, Boeing agreed to pay more than $2.5 billion in a settlement with the U.S. Justice Department regarding the design of its 737 Max 8 planes. As a part of the agreement, $500 million will compensate the families of those who died in the Indonesia and Ethiopia Boeing 737 Max crashes in October 2018 and March 2019, respectively.
